New Doc - Total Unfill

So I went to see a new Dr. yesterday since I have been completely unhappy with my old one.....  I gotta say I was quite impressed and felt really comfortable with him.  Impressed enough that I paid the $500.00 for them to assume my care.  I spent more time with an actual surgeon yesterday then I have in the past 1.5 years with the old one.

What I heard from the new office that I loved!
 * The surgeons do all the fills with ultrasound! Before I only saw the surgeon before surgery and an nurse practitioner always did the fills.
* I will still see the nutritionist every time I go.
* I was actually listened to.
*They do their own upper GI's... not some unaffiliated gastroenterologist
There was a lot more I was impressed by.

He did give me some possible answers and a potential care plan for all the unexplained pain that I have been having.  He thought that it was ridiculous that I have been dealing with this for a year - when the previous doc stated it was likely something I needed to live with.

He is inclined to think that it is a port issue; however, he gave me a complete unfill just in case. I have another upper GI on 2/1 and then a follow-up on 2/5.... This will likely be followed by an exploratory laprascopy (sp) to check the outside of the stomach and a port replacement.  He thinks that the port may be too big for my short torso or that it was placed on a nerve.

If it is not the port then we are looking at erosion or something related to the actual band. I did talk to him about a revision but there will be no further talk about that right now until we figure out what is going on.  Sigh.

At least I am getting somewhere - I hope!

Ready Set Go! Here comes 2013!

I really hate making resolutions because I never keep them.  I have so much I need to work on in 2013.  On the weight loss front, I have maintained the same weight (give or take 5lbs) for the entire year.  Not cool.  I did make a list of some things that I hope to start and carry through all of 2013.

*Log all food – I got a day planner to carry around.  I have tried my fitness pal but I prefer good old hand written notes!
*Post a weekly weigh-in on my Blog!  This also includes getting better about blogging in general.
*I always have a ticker on my blog for minutes of exercise but rarely make my goal.  I am going to aim for a minimum of 1000 minutes per month.  That is really only 17 hours of exercise a month.  I have to be able to do that!!

Small steps!!

I have an appointment with another band Dr. on the 8th.  I am done with True Results.  I am hoping the consult goes well and that everything works out insurance wise!

Have a safe and Happy NEW YEAR!!

I need to commit to this journey.......

But I can't seem to make that happen!

I signed up for Z's Holiday Challenge and I would really really really like to be to onederland but the end of this one - 2/13/13.  I just can't get my shit together.... I need to work out.... I have to work out.....  I cannot drag myself to the gym!!  I am so tired at the end of the day I just have zero energy! I need to eat better but I cannot keep the junk out of my mouth.

If I have more than one area of stress I cannot seem to do anything........  Holidays - bah humbug!

Todays weigh-in 221.2

Accomplishment!

So today was the final weigh-in for Specks Challange!  I lost a total of 1.8 lbs!!  No no no, that is not my accomplishment.

I did a mud/obstacle run a few weeks ago. I was really really scared and intimidated by it!  In the end, I had a lot of fun and challenged myself both physically and mentally (fear of heights, tight spaces)!  Sure I walked a lot of it, skipped a few of the obstacles (the under ground tunnel you had to crawl through - could not handle the claustrophobia), and it took me an hour and 36 minutes but I FINISHED!!!!  The lesson is don't assume you can't do something - It is often easier than you think!

They emailed pics today - here is the link (I couldn't copy the pictures) !!! I look huge and mud soaked clothes are NOT flattering!  BUT I finished!!!! Here is the proof :)

PS - do not wear stretchy yoga pants for this type of thing!!  They get muddy and HEAVY!!!

Weigh-In

Starting Weight: 222.4
Today's Weight: 220.4

No change.  Totally my fault.  I have been stress eating and making poor choices such as Halloween candy!
