BYOC
It’s Friday and time for BYOC – Bring Your Own Crazy! A
couple of questions we answer to get to know each other better and to give our
blogging brains a break. Copy to your own blog and enjoy!
1. When did you begin blogging? Do you plan to do it a long time or do you think you’ll stop after a while?
June, 2011….. I think I plan to do it for a while, It keeps me accountable and there is a great support system.
2. What do you enjoy more - blogging yourself or reading other’s blogs?
Definitely reading…. I like blogging but I always worry that I won’t say anything worth reading.
3. What’s the biggest thing blogging has taught you? Biggest surprise about blogging?
That there is an entire support group out there and there are people in the same place that you are who can relate.

4. Have you met any other bloggers in real life – solely because of your blog or theirs?
Nope – but I hope too!
5. Does your blog have a general theme as in one topic or do you cover everything and anything?
The theme is weight loss but I throw other things in there too.
6. Are you public or anonymous? Whichever you are – do you ever wish you were the other?
Public…… Sometimes I wish I was anno. but I am good with being public. I feel like I can share my life….
7. What’s your best blogging advice for a new blogger?
Just be yourself…… Do your own thing and don’t compare yourself to other bloggers…. You are blogging for you.
8. Does anyone in your real life read your blog/know it’s address? Do you wish they would or wouldn’t?
I have two friends that follow me. My husband knows but doesn’t read it. I don’t really want anyone in my real life following my blog… It is like a diary and I like being able to separate this section of my life. Plus, I don’t think that I would vent as freely or get as personal.
9. Do you enjoy blogging or do you view it as a chore? How often do you blog?
I enjoy it. Maybe twice a week – I am trying to do more.
10. Do you tell people in your real life that you blog? Or keep it a secret?
It is a secret….

Musings......
First - no walk this a.m. the poor kid was absolutely exhausted (she had ballet from 4:30-5:30 and soccer from 6:00-7:30 last night). She woke me up at 5:00 a.m. to go walking and then she crawled in my bed and fell back to sleep. So we will go tonight - I can't go alone in the morning because my husband leaves for work at 4:45 and I can't leave Mya alone in the house. She had an amazing soccer game last Saturday so now she is really interested in working on her running stamina. I am so happy she loves to exercise!!!
I have been very hesitant to talk about my lap band recently, I feel like people are more judgmental than not. There is this one mom who's daughter is on Mya's soccer team that is overweight but is obviously making huge efforts to lose weight. We ended up going to dinner with them on Saturday night and she was talking about her gym schedule and this walking group she does and so on. She also watches her diet very closely. When we were eating dinner, obviously, I can't eat very much so I gave a portion to my hubby and my sides to Mya. She asked me why I was eating so little. My hesitation was that I didn't want to face resentment from her because I had lap band surgery because I know she works so hard at weight loss and I would not want her to think that I took the easy way out or be upset that for whatever reason she couldn't have surgery. I am EXTREMELY lucky that my insurance covered the surgery at 100%, if it hadn't I would not be where I am because was no way I could have afforded it. So I felt it out and ended up telling her that I had lap band surgery and that I don't tell many people because I don't like to be judged. She was extremely accepting and said that until someone walks a mile in your shoes, they have no right to judge what you do. Turns out that she did have a consult for lap band surgery but it just didn't fit into their budget at the time. Long story short, I think that I have found someone to help with accountability and perhaps a workout partner!!
Have a great day ladies <3

Workout #1
Starting fresh.... Mya and I went for a 1.5 mile walk/jog at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Loved it. It was actually great time to spend with her just chatting. I am so lucky to have a 9 year old that actually wants to get up at that hour and jog with me <3 love her!!
The dog on the other hand.... he runs perfectly with Mya loose leash right by her side.... if I try to run with him he full on sprints and I almost face plant. Hahahaha. Perhaps he is saying move your a** lady :)
I lost a follower - kind of a bummer, not sure why it bothers me - OH WELL!

Happy Tuesday!
Thank you all so much for the support and prayers. My mom is at home resting. They did a cardiac cathiterazation (sp) which found some blockages that they fixed. I appreciate all the support.
I am so excited that I have 75 followers!! Thank you!!! :)
So I know I was not supposed to weigh-in but I did this morning. I have been pretty anxious about life so I figured I could allow myself that...... So as of today my weight is 228.4.
I really tend to get upset and down around the holidays and it usually starts around Halloween time. I am not a negative person but my thinking tends to operate in a way that I am constantly waiting for bad things to happen. The reason in that in summer of 1999 I got really sick and almost bled to death from a hemorrhage. Then on 11/15/99, I got a call first thing in the morning saying that my mom had a massive heart attack and was in ICU. On 11/16/11, first thing in the morning that my father had passed away. During this time my brother was in juvenile prison. I am not sharing this as a sob story - really no one who knows me except long term friends even know this about me. I don't often share my stress but I am sharing just because this past week sent me in to a downward sprial and I just needed to vent. My mind is back on high alert that nothing is certain.
Have a good day!

NSVs
1. It is much easier to walk in heels these days (downside, I think that my feet are shrinking so my shoes seem to flop around - I was not aware that feet shrink!).
2. I am wearing a dress that I brought two years ago at Target for like $6.00..... it fits! I am slightly uncomfortable because my legs are showing. I am very much a black pants kinda girl.
3. I can sit indian style, criscross applesauce in my work chair!!!
Happy Tuesday - hurry up weekend :)

BYOC
It's
time to BRING YOUR OWN CRAZY!!
1. If you were given $1,000,000 that you had to spend ONLY ON YOURSELF....how would you spend the money?
That’s hard…… hmmmm…. Let’s see…
1. If you were given $1,000,000 that you had to spend ONLY ON YOURSELF....how would you spend the money?
That’s hard…… hmmmm…. Let’s see…
Student loans – GONE
A lot of handbags, shoes, make-up,
new wardrobe, new car, house, year off of work and travel . I have a running list of luxury items that I
would love but cannot afford!
2. Who would you
say is the one person that's had the most influence on your life? By that, I
mean the person that has molded you in to the person you are today?
This is a really hard question. I am with CAT on this one. I will say my mom but it is more of using the influence as an example of what not to do.
3. What is your normal morning
routine? Are you a bear in the morning, or is the morning your favorite part of
the day?
Wake up, Wake Mya up, walk the dog, shower, hair, make-up, argument with Mya regarding hair and/or clothes, drop mya at school, commute to work.
I dislike mornings but I am not a bear…. My nine year old on
the other hand….. :)
4. If you're a Facebook and Twitter
user, which do you prefer and why? If you're just a Facebook user, what do you
think of the new changes?
I just have Facebook. I am indifferent to the changes.
5. Repeat question....how was your
week in real life and in blog land this week?
Real life: I’ve been in a funk… not really weight related – just been feeling very unhappy. I did start a training class to volunteer at Hospice. I am excited about that. I want to be a hospice nurse but that is just not feasible right now so I figuring volunteering in patient care will be good!
Blog life – Loving all the Chicago pics, stories, etc. I definitely want to go next year and meet you all in person.
