Good Example

I went to dinner with a friend last night and we were discussing the band, weight loss, etc.  I was saying that I was happy with my loss but I do wish it was more.  She said "go to the grocery store and put 4 - 10lbs bags of potatoes in the cart, then complain".

I just thought this was a good illustration!!!  So whether you have lost 10-100 lbs it is something to be proud of!

Happy Friday Eve!!! xxoo

Will the battle with food ever end?

I am extremely happy with my loss!  I know that I that probably could have lost more but regardless it is 40 lbs that I would not have lost if I did not have the band.  You would think that at some point the fact that I am losing weight and looking better would over run the daily battle that I have internally over food everyday.....  I doesn't.  I still think about food constantly, even when I know I am not hungry......  I still fight the urge to binge when I am alone.  I still think about how I can justify eating crap if it is "just this once".  I guess I am winning the battle but I would love for that internal war to go away for good!

Meet Me on Monday

Meet Me On Monday...

Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!

Every Sunday Never Growing Old will post five get to know you questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post and we can all learn a little more about each and every one of us!!

Questions:

1. Are you excited for the holidays or are you dreading them?
2. Do you hit the snooze button or get right up?
3. Do you still have your tonsils?
4. What was the last piece of candy that you ate?
5. Do you shop at thrift stores?

My Answers!

1. Are you excited for the holidays or are you dreading them?
DREADING!  I do not like the holidays.  I feel like I am in a constant state of anxiety from Halloween thru New Years! But I have a child so I put a smile on and make my way thru it!

2. Do you hit the snooze button or get right up?
I hit the snooze multiple times - it is so dumb because I really should just set the alarm for 20 minutes later!

3. Do you still have your tonsils?
Nope - had them removed as a Jr. in High School.

4. What was the last piece of candy that you ate?
Almond joy...

5. Do you shop at thrift stores?
Not really, I am kinda freaked out by used things.  I have one friend that actually finds great stuff there though.

Goals!

First, foremost and to be done immediately – DISPOSE OF ALL HALLOWEEN CANDY!!!

Second, up the exercise!!!!  I like how some of you are doing it in minutes….. So I am going to aim for 360 minutes in November…   I know that is not much but that would be a huge step for me!

Third, up the water and the protein.

Fourth, remember the rules of eating like a banded person.

I would like to hit onederland by New Years but I think that is unrealistic, so,  my weight loss goals are to be at 55 lbs lost by Christmas (I need to lose 14.2 more lbs) and hit onederland by Mya’s 10th birthday on 1/30/12 (I need to lose 27.2 more lbs) which I think is doable with proper effort on my part.

Happy Weekend ALL!!! :)

BYOC :)

Let’s get to what we came here for! Draz's BYOC – Bring Your Own Crazy. A couple questions we answer to get to know each other better and to give our blogging brains a break. Copy and paste to your own blog if you wish! Enjoy!

Let’s do another themed BYOC…..this one will be called “What’s In/On Your….?”

1. What’s on your desk between your monitor and keyboard? (if it’s a laptop – what’s on your desk in general)

Lotion, hand sanitizer, paper clips, water bottle.

2. What’s on your mind right at this moment?

The problem emails I still have to deal with at work….. and how I am going to balance everything that needs to be done this weekend.

3. What’s in or on your nightstand on your side of the bed?

lamp, water bottles, cell phone charger, homework/books

4. What’s on YOUR Christmas wish list (let’s assume you’d get what was on it)?

hmmm…. A camel colored purse, a watch, perfume… no of which I really want to spend money on.

5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in real life and in blog land.

Same ol…..  business as usual
:)

Blog land – loving it!!
